Doriann Stein, President of the Daughters of the Nile Foundation accompanied by Shirley A. Henley, Supreme Queen of the Daughters of the Nile were honored to present a check on behalf of the Daughters of the Nile Foundation, in the amount of $74,535 to Shriners Hospitals for Children-Greenville on March 14th. This check will fund the purchase of a set of Stryker System 8 Cordless Drivers. Thanks to all Daughters of the Nile for your generosity!
Muriel Knapp, Director of the Daughters of the Nile Foundation, attended a hospital-sponsored luncheon on February 6, 2019, in Sacramento, California, and, assisted by Shirley Henley, Supreme Queen, presented to Alan Anderson , Director of Development, a check to the Shriners Hospitals for Children® – Northern California. The cash donation by the Foundation, in the amount of $48,111.00 will be used to purchase Physical Therapy Gym Equipment and a Vein Viewer. These hospital-requested items were on the Shriners Hospitals for Children® list of the Pre-Approved Capital Equipment Items for 2019.

The Daughters of the Nile Foundation is pleased to announce a new Stepping Stone to Happiness. The crown has long been associated with Daughters of the Nile, emblematic of royalty and leadership. For its historical place in our fraternal organization, the Daughters fo the Nile Foundation Board has chosen a silver crown to decorate a new Stepping Stones to Happiness, which shall be known as the “Crown Stepping Stones to Happiness Certificate.
This new Crown certificate, available for a $50.00 donation, can be ordered now through the donfdn.org website or through your Princess Recorder. With the debut of the Crown Certificate, the NOW In Honor Of and In Memory Of certificates have been retired and are no longer available. Eight new recipients for th 2018 McHenry Awards were announced at Supreme Session in Cincinnati, Ohio
The McHenry Award is an honorary award for the Ladies of the Household who have made a contribution to the Foundation of either a minimum of $5,000 in cash or the equivalent value of assets through their efforts. They have supported the mission of the Foundation by actively being involved in the fundraising activities at the Shriners Hospitals for Children®, their Temple or through the Foundation, they have educated the public and the members of the Daughters of the Nile as to the “Mission and Vision” of the Foundation, and/or initiated philanthropic endeavors that provide for the needs of patients of Shriners Hospitals for the Children through the Foundation.
Vickie Hill, President of the Daughters of the Nile Foundation, presented certificates to the presiding officer of the Temples donating the largest amounts to the Convalescent Relief Account at the 102nd Annual Supreme Session in Cincinnati, Ohio in June of 2018. The Foundation would like to thank all of the Temples that donated to the Holiday Sharing Project in 2017. Donations to the Holiday Sharing Project for 2017 totaled $66,685.59!
The Daughters of the Nile Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public corporation which maintains a permanent endowment fund to benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children®. All monetary donations promote, support and maintain the philanthropic endeavors that enhance the medical care and treatment of the patients in the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Since, 1924, Daughters of the Nile has contributed monetary gifts amounting to over $62 million for the Children treated at Shriners Hospitals for Children®
